Crowdwave Brings Renewable Energy Workshops to the Volta Region
Empowering the Next Generation of Green Innovators
Sustainable energy is one of the most critical topics for Africa's future development. This week, the Crowdwave team traveled back to the Volta Region to deliver an intensive, hands-on workshop focused on renewable energy solutions.
Over 60 students from our partner schools participated in the day-long event. The workshop was split into two key phases:
- The Theory: Understanding how solar panels convert sunlight into electricity and why clean energy is vital for community development.
- The Practice: Working in small teams, students assembled portable solar lanterns using recycled materials, small PV cells, and rechargeable batteries.
Lighting up the Future For many students, this was their first time working directly with electronic components. Seeing the lanterns light up for the first time brought immense joy and a sense of achievement to the classroom. These lanterns will now help students study in the evenings, bridging the gap between education and practical utility.
A huge thank you to our local coordinators and dedicated volunteers who made this trip such a massive success!
